| hi,Ive been trying to uninstall windows xp and then reinstall it but it aint working!I start up my computer with original xp disc in the cd drive,i also start up the computer then i put the disc in the cd drive(this disc came with computer(icom) when new from target)both ways seem to work the same as i get the same response near the end of the installation which is.......when install gets to the last few stages of the installation abox comes up saying something like "windows will automatically configer screen resolution" then when it does it it asks you to press ok,and when i press ok a black screen with the windows microsoft logo comes up saying' please wait', 2 hours later Iwas still waiting'whats happening?Surely i dont have to wait that long do i?Am i using the right disc? is there another way to uninstall my o/p system and reinstall it? thanks frank

Hi Frank,
If you haven't already maybe try visiting www.windowsreinstall.com or even the windows xp home edition website not sure of the address but surely they have one??? or ring Microsoft customer support and get them too guide you through the process. You should definately not have to wait 2 hours for anything, so somethings gone wrong.

| Hi frank when you get that window asking to do what ever click the no and not the yes ,switch the computor off and after awhile switch it back on again and fix the resalutuon yourself, that should do the trick.
