Just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on our chances of winning the WorldCup this year. I dont think we have a hope, but I reckon a second round place is a chance...

Thoughts...

I'd like to think we could get past the stages and maybe even the quarters.

Funny game football...you never know...

who are you kidding?  the quarters???  i'm all for supporting the team, but we have to be realistic here - this is not the Oceania division.  we are still sucking our thumbs while the other teams are grandfathers to their children's offspring! - still too new and young for the round ball.

I agree with Poppy3.....they've got absolutely no chance at all of even seeing the ball on the pitch let alone scoring enough goals to win a game! I mean seriously.....

Don't bother with the Socceroos....support a real team in the World Cup!!!!

Tisk Tisk Potus 3. The socceroos may be just babes in terms of their experience... but some of them are real babes. Just take a good look at Harry Kewell. I think that is a good enough reason to support the babes.. um, I mean, the team.

You people are so negative!

Do you think South Korea really thought they would get so far last time.

Look at Greece and all the causulties in Euro.

Like Johnny W said: we shouldn't be aiming to just be in the World Cup we should be striving to win the World Cup!

I'm just saying that if we can keep our defense in order and keep clean sheets or be drawing towards the end of a game, you never know what might poke through!

You may not expect us to win, but do you expect us to get whopped? I really can't see us conceding any more than 2-3 goals against ANYONE, so all we need to do is convert all the chances and get a bit of luck. Its not impossible.
