We bought a new 3L turbo diesel Prado about a month ago. Great to drive. Lots of power. Good handling. We get between 1600 to 1800km per 180L.

Also, Toyota are bringing out the same shape Prado next month but they are putting the Hilux engine in it.

Wholesale Launch of the new 3.0L TD occurred 13/11. We sould see these in dealerships by the end of this week. I have had one on order since August & TMCA has confirmed that I will have the vehicle by the end of the week. Apparently a minor face lift has taken place slightly altering the front end, however Toyota has been unwilling to confirm this for me.

in addition, the new 126KW Hilux engine is definitely being put in the Prado's, that is the reason production has been delayed. Original Launch date was September.

I have a Prado Grande 4.0L (2005 with the 5 speed auto) with all accessories including soverign bullbar (extra weight). We do about 1100 per tank, mostly Sydney local driving. Trip computer reads 16.1L/100km. We drive normally, i..e not always rocketing around and also not trying to drive super easy inorder to save fuel. So I would say its a realistic figure. Currently driven approx 36000km, of which include 1 trip to gold coast 2000km, and few <3 hr trips probably approx 4000km. 2 trips on the sands at stockton, with standard tyres. I originally wanted to wait for the new diesel, but considering you pay more for the model, more the fuel and more for the service just didn't up as our family car doing prob 20000km a year.
