Just wondering why we have to put up with going through the buy section? Does any one else find this anoying? Maybe there needs to be a WANTED tab! Why aren't there prices on all bikes? I search for bikes under $2000,yet,heaps of other bikes with no price are included. It turns 2 pages to look though into 13 pages!

Hi,

I was looking for the same thing and found this in the Selling Section.

Hi there,

I did some snooping and I found out how you can go about posting your Wanted ad.

Just follow this...

1: Click on the "SELL" Tab of the top of the menu

2: Click on the orange tab that says "Create your ad" (That's the page with the stupid-looking happy blonde guy and his dorky mate :-)

3: Scroll down the categories and select "NOTICE BOARD"

4: When the next box on the page pops-up to your right; go and select "WANTED" and then click "CONTINUE"

Now, here's the bad news...it's NOT free. No, it's not free to list a "WANTED" ad. It seems that it's much like listing a car - you have to pay. Or so it would seem.

As far as I can tell this is the only way to have your "Wanted" ad listed under a "Want" category.

However, you could go the path of a free "Auction" listing instead. I don't know whether nor not this may violate Trading Post's listing policies but here's what you can do...

Example: Say you are looking for a DVD movie? The Dark Knight.

1: Click "SELL" tab

2: Select category - in this case "DVDs, CDs etc"

3: Then select "DVDs"

4: Select "Movies"

5: Press "Continue"

When you get to the description screen and where is says "Add Title" in that space you could type something like this... "WANTED! The Dark Knight on Blu-ray. As New or New Condition"

In the description box you could add details of the condition of the DVD you would like to purchase e.g. I would like a used DVD with not too many scratches with it's original box and inserts. I will negotiate price or I am willing to pay up to $12.00 for a good one.

Or something like that.

Set the price in the "Price" box as "$0.00" (Zero Dollars)

Some other boxes you will have to fill in - such as Payment, Shipping methods and cost.

Just tick the methods that YOU(the buyer or the "Wanter") can use in order to pay for your item.

In shipping price, just add the amount as $0.00 dollars or add just how much YOU are willing to pay for shipping.

Auction Ads are free - for the moment; so this might be a better idea.

Whether it's naughty to do it this way or not, I wouldn't know. It's just a suggestion.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

P.S. I hope this post didn't sound patronizing; like I was treating you like a child or someone who's never used an auction site before. If it did, I apologize.

:-)
