Hi All,

I am wanting to hear from anybody that owns or has previously owned, or worked at Holden at the time of the manufacture, of a limited edition HOLDEN 25th Anniversary Silver HQ Premier Sedan Released November 1973 as I want to try to assertain just how many of these rare beauty's are left in existance.

Also any other information or parts regarding these magnificent cars that you could add to my collection would be absolutely fantastic.

Please reply to this post

Best Wishes

Hi,
We to own a 1973 Holden HQ 25th Anniversary model. We are also battling for information regarding the car.
For instance, do you know how many were made ?
Are you restoring yours ?
We are in the process of restoring ours to its original condition. They seem to be fairly rare cars.
We are so excited that someone else has this rare little beauty like us. What do you know about this model ? Do you have any pics ?
Can you email us any information ?
Would you know anything regarding the vehicle's value ?
We are in NSW, but purchased the vehicle from QLD (no rego plates) just left to die. Our car is complete, chrome in mint condition and we bought some pedders suspension and shockies off of ebay still boxed at a bargain price.
Please email us at XXXXXXXXX so we can compare info.
Take Care,
Bek & Kyall

Hi Bekka,

Thanks for the great response, it's giving me hope that there are more than I think left floating around.

We are in the process of restoring ours too, got her roadworthy and registered a few weeks ago, but still got things that need doing to restore her to original factory condition.

I hope there are more HQ fans out there with info that we can all share.

Greetings.
I own two Silver Anniversary Models.
The first was made in December 1973 at the Sydney plant and is pretty much complete although in a million bits (thanks to the previous owner), and the second car produced 26/11/73 in Melbourne. This car is 100% complete and drivable although unregistered due to rust in the roof turret (a common problem under the vinyl).
I plan to restore both cars and thereby have a matching pair.
I have sourced parts from other wrecked cars and know of atleast three others here in Tasmania. 1 was/is even used for HQ racing!
I have not been able to acertain how many were produced but keep coming up with figures below 1500. A very short production run.
The cars are quite rare. Some would say even rarer than other more popular HQ models but as a result don't get as much attention.
I hope this information helps.
If you like i could eMail you some photos.

Regards

Hello!
I recently bought a 25th Anniversary HQ for 800 bucks in Tassie!
It's registered and roadworthy (just) but is in need of a fair bit of T.L.C. It has lots of rust and most of the interior needs to be replaced to make it look nice
My dad was working at Motors Holden at the time it was released and he reckons only one or two were sold new in our area. I've never seen another anyway.
It came with a few nice Monaro bits too! It has a cool three spoke GTS steering wheels and the front seats are the fold and slide type from the coupe!
I just need four decent doors and a new nose cone and I can get it ready for a re-spray!

Ok sorry to make you all sick ! I have a 25th anniversary WAGON! yes a wagon with factory fitted GTS options (Wheels dash steering wheel seats door cards etc) . It is fitted with a 350 chev from the factory (They never built 350's in the wagons as everyone tells me). To top it off I also have a letter of authenticity from holden. Its a little sad at the moment with some rust above the rear window below where the vynal was. Its a top machine a head turner and a conversation starter where ever it go's, and boy does it go!
I am told it was a special build one of only 11 ever made but I cant prove this. It was assembled in 69 but never regoed till the 25 year anniversary, which makes me think it may have been a promotional vehicle perhaps a car show tool or similar. Built in Melbourne and still regoed in Vic.
Any one out there know anything more about this rare car?

Hi I own a 73 HQ Anniversary Silver in color and all GTS options except for the guards, bough new in 73 by my uncle and I purchased it from him 18mths ago. It is a 308 with T350 and 10 bolt salisbury diff, it has Black trim with Red Cloth inserts and factory air, still has the original delivery sheet from Peter Page Holden here in S.A. as for how many were built your guess is as good as mine. Good Luck finding out, I haven't had any.
