Hey all members,
I thought this would be a great thread to place feedback and tips on holidays and holiday information.
Many people have travelled extensively overseas and in Australia, and many of you have information about places that are off the beaten track, this forum is a great place to share the information gained over years and miles of travel.

I will kick this off.
Have any members been to Croatia?
I went last year with my wife. Its a magic place. Doesn't usually come up a lot on peoples travel radar, but its a country that I would highly recommend. Getting there is a little tough, it is covered by Rail/Bus/Plane/Boat, however the only way in and out that is cheap eg. not $600, is by boat or bus.
We went by ferry from Bari, Italy and it was only about 70EUR, that gets you into Dubrovnik, which is a fantastic place to start your Croatian journey.
I would then suggest catching a ferry out to Hvar Island, its about 2 hours away but worth it. We spent a week relaxing here, because life on Hvar Island is very very slow.
The people of Croatia are incredably hospitable, many of you will remember the horror that was Croatia in the 90's and the country has rebuilt from the war thanks to the tourist trade. The locals are so proud of their country and so happy to see tourists in their country that they welcome you with open arms.
I would recommend not booking a hotel, instead book a private accommadation, these are small rooms (Granny Flats) in people's houses. We did this in Dubrovnik and the lady we stayed with brought us fresh grapes every day that she picked from her vinyard.
Wonderful place, anyone else had experience from Croatia?

New York New York, a place so nice they named it twice!
This would have to be one of the best cities in the world. The fast paced action, the food, the shopping, the theatre shows, the traffic and the constant flow of people everywhere at all hours of the day will just amaze you.
Top 10 things to do or see in the Big Apple:
1. Statue of Liberty
2. Empire State Building
3. 5th Avenue - Trump Towers
4. Century 21 - the greatest discount store in the world. Up to 75% the biggest fashion labels ($10 Donna Karan t-shirts...need I say more??)
5. Times Square
6. A Broadway show - any Broadway show. I was lucky enough to see Denzel Washington in "Julius Ceasar"
7. Central Park
8. Ellis Island
9. Canel St - If you couldn't find the real labels at Century 21, grab yourself some cheap imitations in Canel St
10. Grand Central Station
Grab yourself a good digital camera (I think there's a section on the site about them) and be a part of it - NEW YORK! NEW YORK!
