We have our first child on the way, due in July and have started preparing the nursery. Does anyone have some cheap and affordable decorating tips?

| Hi. Yes, I have some good ideas that I can share with you but it will depend on what you are looking for. I am expecting my second child in March 09 and have just had to go through the ordeal! Let me know if you want to chat off-line as it will take ages to convey concepts, themes, using what you have etc. Don't worry I am a normal person and will not "stalk" or "bother" you.

Nursery on a Budget
Choosing a paint (and colour) that will last 10 yrs and picking a theme thats suitable for a five yr old as well as baby.Cant bear not to have that bunny boarder for baby? Use self adhesive decorations that peel off.
Invest in furniture taht grows with your bub like a cot bet, and storag systems that can easily be added to bub accumulats more toys.
Frame pictures from mags and book in inexpensive plastic frames or paint a mural - enlarge pictures on a photocopier, use them to trace and outline on teh wall and colour them in using paint tester pots.
Make nursery furnitur (not the cot) from MDF you can get the mesurments from catalogues.
