Or you could ring a parts reseller with the make and model and have a crack yourself.

Most 'classic' Holdens have a three point connection (including clasp) for the driver and passenger, this is a sash belt. Centre occupants have a two point connection this is a lap belt. Each point has a single bolt holding the seat belt ends or clasp end to the body of the car. This is usually covered by a piece of trim or plastic remove this cover or pull it out of the way. Used a socket and ratchet to remove the bolts. You may need a handle extension on a breaker bar to get the bolts to loosen initially.

Early holdens were manually adjustable but you are totally legal to fit ADR approved retractable sash belts. You will notice that the seat belt hole is only slightly larger than the smooth shank of the seat belt bolt. This allows the clasp and top anchor point to adjust to the driver. IT IS CRITICAL that the seat belts you choose fit the seat belt bolt EXACTLY the same as the original. The other important variable is the LENGTH of the clasp end. The retractable end has a variable length and can be mounted at various pivot lengths. The clasp end is usually a semi flexible plastic coated wire with a clasp one end and a mounting eye the other. It is a fixed length some make sure it is not too short or too long. RETIGHTEN BOLTS to recommended toque and RECHECK. They must be FT.

Seat Belt Replacement

Hi there

Does anyone know if there's a company that can replace seat belts? I have a classic Holden and the seatbelts completely worn out, so now it's too dangerous to drive.

I've had a look around and there only appears to be companies which sell seat belts but don't install them....and I'm not keen on doing that myself

Any ideas?
