I'm assuming you are currently running a 3.46 diff ????

If so I understand this is a common problem - additionally I've heard 6th gear is as about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

The answer is to upgrade to a set of 4.10 gears - better pulling power no whinning diff or burning clutch. Yes it can overall be a bit noiser I understand.

I've got an SS Crewman '04 model with a 6-speed man trans. I tow my boat from time-to-time and 1st gear is too long. I can't get the boat up the ramp without clutch burning. I have been back to Holden to see if there is something that can be done and they won't look at it. I heard that there is a 3.91 ratio diff that is used on HSV vehicles, but local diff places haven't uncovered anything that suits a Crewman. Does anybody know how to get this fixed (apart from buying a Ford!!!)
