Willing to swap for my...

Hi All,

I'm looking for my DREAM car which is a 1972-74 Ford Cortina TC XLE with the twin round headlights. I'm located in Melb/Vic and obviously it would be easier for me to find a car located in my state, though IF your not in Vic then please keep on reading. I would like to find a TC XLE in 'good' too reasonable condition, preferably one that's close to original factory specs as possible i.e. still has the 250ci 4.1L Pre Crossflow motor and 13inch steel wheels with factory 3-speed auto or 4-speed manual.

Ideally I'd be interested in arranging a swap/trade/barter arrangement. I currently own a very good condition factory original, Silver Grey 1981 Cortina TF Ghia S/wagon with 4.1L alloy head cross flow, 3-speed auto, aircon, power-steering, polished factory Globe alloy mag wheels, roof rack, velour interior and a new Mp3/CD 4-speaker system. It has rego and drives very well, I've owned this car for 15yrs and its been lovingly taken care of during that time with a full history of all work done during the past 15yrs. Since my wife doesn't want me to have any more 'toys' the only way I can gain my dream car the Cortina TC XLE is to organize a trade/swap or even if necessary having to sell my TF Ghia S/wagon. Though IF I cannot find a suitable TC XLE then obviously I'll keep my car. It won't be easy to part with my TF Ghia S/wagon BUT I'm keen to find a good condition and close to original as possible Cortina TC XLE.

Whatever happens it's obviously something we'll have to work out, understandably I can't swap my car for any old wreck and of course you’ll want to gain a good and fair deal. So IF you have a TC XLE and would like it to go to a good home then please don't hesitate to contact me. Also should you know of a Cortina TC XLE located in Vic then please contact me as well.

Finally thanks for taking the time to view my post, this offer will stand for weeks, months and maybe even years until I find a suitable TC XLE, so take your time to consider my offer carefully and don't hesitate to contact me even if it's quite a long period of time that this 'post' has been here. Once again IF you have a Cortina TC XLE 1972-74 it doesn't need to be in 'prefect' condition though I would prefer it to be complete, running, drive-able and close to factory specs as possible please. Doesn't need to have rego or a RWC because I plan to restore the car to factory original condition regardless. Preferably just a 'good to reasonable' condition car that may require work BUT isn't too far rotted away to be saved.

Thanks again and hope to hear from you soon or in the future, I Promise to reply to your email or comment if I'm able to so please contact me if your interested.

Regards,

Matt.

number of hits on a selling site

Is it possible to have access to the number of "hits" on a selling site without the general public HAVING ACCESS TO THAT INFORMATION?? My son is a first year Uni student and intends to get a vehicle as well. I know absolutely nothing about cars. I like the proton it looks good inside but should I steer clear as it is not a popular make. What are the drawbacks? I can spend up to $18,000.00. My son likes the Hyundais he can spend up to $8,000.00. Another car my son is looking at
is a toyota twin cam 1995 model. Is that any good? I have heard that Hyundai after 2 years the motor goes...does anyone have knowledge on these. I am single we both want 4 door. Would love your input, must be economical, cheap on parts, automatic. Don't think I am fussy will probably never be able to afford another one so I have to get it right. If you can suggest an alternative make that woul'd be appreciated. What do you think of dealer verses private sale versus auctions. Which one is better? Have been told get a Magna and convert it to gas with the Government rebate is that a good idea? Ok for my son, but I find 6 cyls a bit powerful. Thankyou

Shopping around for car finance…..Where do you start?

I'm shopping around for the best deal with Car Finance.....

Where do I start?

Does anyone have any thoughts on who offers the best value financing?

7 seaters best one under $20,000, 3-5 yrs old

I have no idea which wagons/compact 4wd come in 7 seats, or which ones would be best.

Do not like a van looking car as my kids want something that looks cool!

Any ideas?

Car sales

Anyone had any experience of going to car sales and auctions? I'm a bit nervouse about being pressured into a purchase or being ripped off. I heard you can get real bargains but wouldnt all the dealers stop that?

Should I just stick to 'the good old trading post'? I got my last 2 cars that way with no worries.
