He stated he would buy the car through paypal, and would send the payment before an "agent" arrived to pick it up. So it all seemed fairly real until i received a fake paypal email, and then another email stating his payment would not be allowed through by paypal unless i directly pay his agent $800. At this point clearly i knew it was a scam, and i continued to post it on the relevant forums etc.

Non-legitimate buyer(s)

We have received reports of some seller’s receiving SMS and email enquiries into their items for sale from non-legitimate buyer’s based overseas. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Below is an example of the SMS you may receive:

Hey,saw <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />ur add on tradingpost and will like to know if the car is still available. Be aware of cheap items for sale. My advise, if you are buying a big ticket item such as a CAR, Motorbike, boat or caravan, definately get physical proof by inspection.

Refund for insertion fee

Hi there,
I just listed my first item for sale on tradingpost today. I thought I give it a go as I am usually trading on ebay since 2004. Just 3h after I listed my item someone bought it "Buy it now" and I got a message telling me.
Sorry I can't pickup but I would like to!! I am in USA, Florida at the moment for work and I want to buy this lovely item for my Fiancee, who works with UNICEF and apparently got transfered to West Africa for Malaria and Polio control. After he bought my item he said I am interested in buying your item. I am so sick of these people. Is there anything you can do? And I want my fees back. They cost me $20 a hit and you can do absolutly nothing stopping them from hitting the "Buy now" button.
