I used to import USB drives along with other items ( that I will list here soon ) and the makers could print any logo or brand you wanted for about 30c extra.
So , in reality , you could buy a USB drive labelled as , say , Sony , which isn't and you would most likely never know.

If you feel better about buying a well known brand name , then go ahead and do it.
Out of all the drives I sold ( and there were several hundred ) I never had one fail , and they were all unbranded.

Hope this is helpful and not in anyway confusing.

USB flash drive

I am looking to purchase a USB drive for myself (i think portable storage is a great idea - yes I know I am slow, everyones already got one) but I don't know what brands are reliable, what capacity would I need? and whats 1.0, 2.0 USB mean?
