According to my ford car dealer, to reset the code costs $250.00. That's too expensive. Can you give me some advice?

Thank you very much.

RE: Ford car radio code

Take your registration papers down to your local Ford Dealer, and you may be asked to provide proof of ID.

Once they enter the VIN number and registration number into their computer, they will be able to inform you of your radio code.

Write this down in the Handbook for future reference

RE: Ford car radio code

Obviously your friendly Ford Service Department is not as forthcoming as the one we use. I can't beleive that the amount you pay for the car and the servicing that you can't get this detail. Maybe you could ring the Ford Customer Hotline for more info.
It is worth a try.

RE: Ford car radio code

sorry mate i cant think of any other way. i install car radios proffessionally. maybe just get it serviced at a ford dealership but not at the one you initially went to. and maybe they will be nice enough to get the radio going for you

Ford car radio code

Hi there,

I have been overseas for 2 months and therefore disconnect my Ford Festiva '96 car battery which I just bought for 3 months at that time.

The past owner did not have the radio code neither the car dealer.

Anyway, I need to re-enter the radio code after I re-connect my battery (else I will have no radio to help me get past the traffic!). I found out from Ford I have to pay them $25 (!!) just to reset the radio. I just don't think that the charge is fair for me.

So, I am basically hoping that some ex-Ford technician will able to provide some tip on how I could reset the radio mayself. I think it is only going to be a five-minutes job.

Hope to hear from you soon,
koala2
