(sort of gives you a hint as to how they will treat your car) and is clearly designed to dissuade anyone from taking them up no their 'offer'.

IMHO, the 'rip off' starts at the commencement of your dealings with them.
Just go to a tint-a-car and get them to match price.

RE: Window Tinting

I have also had to deal with Ric the manager of Tint Professor and after what i went through would never go back. They suck.

Had my windows Tinted at their City branch and had my car returned to me with parts missing off the door trim, broken glass and tint strips all over my parcel shelf, and the tint job had bubbling in several areas.

This is a company that will say they can do the work, take your money but as soon as you make a complaint or warranty claim they give you the run around and dont want to know about it.

I was even told to source the missing parts that THEY lost myself from a wrecker, and that the tint job was the way it was because my car is 15 years old. Go figure.

After getting the run around from their rude phone staff and writing a complaint letter (from which i got no response) i took the matter to consumer affairs. The manager then contacted me and asked me to take my car to their Nunawading head office(40 mins away) to have the matters sorted. I ended up sourcing the parts myself and had to waste my time and petrol to get it sorted out. And to top it off dealing with the manager Ric.... i wont say anymore.

RE: Window Tinting

Tint Professor-Coburg

Shocking tint, been in there 3times for bubbles. They managed to put a dent in my one day old Skyline - didnt own up to it (rather very relucantly). Didnt offer any compensation for the damage. Ric popped most of the dent back, but still left a small dent.

Came back next day to get them to fix it for me - and i never forget the way he drove my car out of the Tinting workshop to the panel beaters. Not a care in the world that the car is not his. Came back, said it was a huge job, and that he has no time blah blah.

Took it to my dealer, who had me take the car to a contact of his - didnt require any panel removal, and cost only $100 to fix.

Sent the copy of the reciept to Ric and only got paid $70 out of the 100.

So the tinting cost $320 odd + damage + me having to pay $30 extra to get it fixed.

Yeah, like im going to take my car back there......

And Im not hte only person who had problems with these people before. They had a forum where people posted their negative experiences, and guess what - their forums is now closed!

Never going back again - the tinters looked dodgey and the owner is abusive. Not the best way to run a business.

/end Rant

mytime2 (25/01/2008)

Have recently had the unfortunate experience in dealing with the Tint Professor recently and was not satisfied with their work. Tried to get a refund under their 30 day satisfaction guarantee and ended up having to deal with the main owner. Would not wish that experience on anyone. Needless to say he is not the best person to deal with. I would not rely on any of their guarantees in making your decision.

RE: Window Tinting

Funny that .....currently dealing with the owner of Tint Professor about the a quote and the finished product ...not happy and didn't get what I had asked for.

RE: Window Tinting

Have had work done by Tint A Car in the past and it lasted the life of the car.

Have recently had the unfortunate experience in dealing with the Tint Professor recently and was not satisfied with their work.
