How do you guys find the community forums? I keep having to go through the help pages before I can find the link. Is there a quicker way?

I am male and i do have domestic blindness.

Does Trading Post have a feature whereby I can tell Trading post what I am looking for to buy and when that item gets listed by someone i will get an automatic email. This is a great feature. It saves us hours of searching.

Pay on pick up - Please add as a standard menu option

I have two suggestions.

1. You neeed a dedicated suggestion box [I think I just found it]

2. My second suggestion concerns "Pay on pick up"

I'm very disappointed to see that Trading Post does not have "Pay on pick up" as a standard option. Even eBay has deigned to now offer this as a menu option. I believe most sellers on Trading post do not deliver, they probably often select "Cash on Delivery" because you have not provided them with the more accurate and appropriate menu option which is "Pay on pick up".

Action required
I would like to see trading Post add "Pay on pick up" as a standard menu option.

"No Follow" attribute on classified ads online...

I do Google searches all the time including looking to see if my ads appear in the serps. I do a search for "Ikea flat pack furniture" and I see all the ads I have placed on Gumtree.com.au but I see no ads regarding Trading Post ads I have put on over the weeks - which leads me to suspect that the classified ads part of the site is "No Follow" as far as the search engines are concerned. Very helpful to the advertisers - I don't think!
I get customers from the Google serps who find my ads listed on Google from the Gumtree ads, I would never - it seems -get any customers from advertising with the Trading Post!!

Debit Card refusal issues for listing items.

Hi there,

I was just told by my friend that the Trading Post system is rejecting their St. George Debit Card much like my St. George Visa Debit Card. What is the issue with the Trading Post system not accepting debit card numbers?

Does anyone know what the problem is? Has the system been refusing ALL debit cards or is it just a problem with St. George Debit Cards?

My friend and I have never had any trouble before using our debit card on the internet as credit cards...that's what these types of cards are designed for, right?

Will the problem ever be fixed?
Does anyone have any suggestions to help us out?

Feedback being able to import from other sites

Most buyers will only buy from sellers with good feedback ratings
and I can totally understand why as they want security when buying online.

Can TP please offer sellers ability to import our feeback from other sites like ebay and oztion.

I have been member here for approx 12 months, haven't sold anything yet still have a zero feeback.

re-auction bidding

hello im new to trading post ,& think its wonderful an aussie icon has caught up with consumers,However i see a couple of problems brewing with the auctions

#1 keep basic listings free ... for the simple fact it outsmarts your biggest rival ...placing our own ads online has saved t'post gazzilions of man hrs in print & ink & paper...nobody likes the tripple sometimes quadrupple diving into our pockets we get from ya rival (place ad,revise,auction end & yes they own paypal/fees)

...i suggest 1 set price for all be it %5,%10 or %15 whatever so long as we know where we stand from go to woe

#2 i realise you make a little revenue from banner ads but they slow page loading down @ auction endings last 5 mins is crucial to sales you need to lose the banners in auction area please ...

#3 paying you ...do i get billed instantly once a mth? i have no idea where to go after a sale to pay you....its something i like to stay ontop of

Suggested Improvements to tradingpost

Im one more disgruntled eBay customer, and listed my first batch of trading post items last week, (not expecting any fantastic results), but was very happy to have had a high priced item sell very shortly afterwards. At least once a month it seems eBay removes an auction or suspends my account with no warning or apparant reasons, and thier customer service and responses are terrible, so hopefully trading post does not fall into the same potholes.
I havent been listing for long on the trading post, but after a few listings I've noticed a few things that could be improved to make the site easier to use and more attractive to buyers/sellers

Remove the 5000 charracter limit for listings
I was dissapointed that enough charracters were not allowed for me to provide conditions of sale information, and common postage and payment questions and other details, so was limited to a quick description without any html formatting to improve the listings appearance and make it stand out.
Streamlining relists
Making the re-listing process of items simpler and more streamlined
The relisting process seemed to have too many pages to click through in order to relist finished items. If it was a simple one or two page process, it would become a much easier process and make it more attractive to list larger numbers of items
Streamline Checkout options
The checkout process seemed a little tedious and hard to follow. The checkout system provided by eBay allows the automatic disclosure of bank deposit details to buyers which I couldnt find how to do on tradingpost. Showing which items are awaiting payment, postage, feedback in my tradingpost (as eBay have done) would simplify things a little too.
Provide option for automatic relisting if not sold if this is already an option I couldnt find it, but if not this option would make regular sellers lifes much simpler (well at least mine). On eBay I have the option of atomatic relisting which means I can save time and focus on new listings instead of having to constantly check the old ones.
Reserve prices
I read they already exist, but no matter how much I struggled I couldnt find the option to add a reserve to auctions, having the reserve option in a more prominent position would be great (as it would be easier for new listers such as myself encouraging more listings), and reserves can be very important at the moment while the number of customers are slim.
Some sort of buyer protection
Buyers feel safe purchasing on eBay as they were covered to some extent by paypals buyer protection currently, but previously were covered by eBays buyer protection. I personaly wouldnt mind paying a little (capitols: LITTLE) extra on each sale if buyer protection was available, as the end result would be more trusting happy buyers on the site, which is better for sellers in the end.

All in all, Tradingpost has what it takes to take on eBay, and there are many sellers dying for an alternative. The biggest problem is getting the word out there. As soon as I realised that trading post now offered auctions, I emailed every previous customer I had from eBay, and every person on my mailing list informing them of it - if every traing post user did the same, there would be masses of people in no time.

Perhaps if trading post offered a credit to use against listings of some description for every referral they get to sign up on tradingpost, they could encourage more selers to do the same.

Just my two sence.

Messaging system

The messaging system could be improved to allow followup emails to be sent right through until the finalisation of the transaction ie. feedback left. I have been trying to contact a buyer to ask for feedback to be left. The only way I can do this is via external email. I feel this should still be an internal procedure.

Ads not showing in My Trading Post Active Ads

I can find my ads, and have added extra pictures to the Classified Ads via the link sent by email. What I want to do now is add pictures to the online ads which were also placed by phone, through the Classifieds. The help pages say I do this through My TP page, but the only activity showing on My Trading Post page, is the Items of Interest list. Can you tell me when my listed ads (classified and online) should show up in my Trading Post? Or, is there some other way I can edit the online ads. It's important to get the photos up. Thanks anybody.
