I think lack of bids on trading post is still a matter of promotion and public awareness. The community at large does not equate Trading Post to online Auctions - Yet. I am aware Trading post has had more ads on TV yet the ad does not make it clear that it is also Online and in auction format. I sell on several auction sites try o let people know that items may be listed on other sites.

RE: why is there no bidders?

Hi, I have started using Trading Post as alternative to ebay and have noticed results are not the same. Recent results on ebay sold 12 of 24 items listed. On Trading Post sold 2 of 14 items listed and one of those backed out of sale when they came to inspect, pay for and pick up the item. The other item sold on Trading post is still pending buyer contacting me to complete sale. Have noticed Trading post is quick to debit credit card on completion of auction rather than completion of sale.

RE: why is there no bidders?

hi amanda , in this economic downturn i think with all selling - it comes down to timing - whether someone is wanting what you are selling. If you go into the forums seems like everyone is doing it pretty tough at the moment.

My advice: just hang it out, take advantage of advertising on t/post where you can get free listings - get as much listed as you can and get your feedback built up.

I know one thing - due to so much scamming going on i think people lose trust - oh and another thing that helps - put as much description in as you can sizes etc - and if you have any feedback from any other sites just put a note in your listing that if a potential buyer would like to see any feedback or ask any other questions they are more than welcome to ask.

why is there no bidders?

Hi, im brand new, choose TP cause the fees with eBay and Paypal were ridiculous, however i see there appears to be no bids on items, i recall seeing two items that actually had 1 bid on them.
