Every 15-20 minutes my wireless network drops out, and then re-acquires the network address and reconnects. It seems to have started doing it since I moved down from NSW and started using OptusNet, however the laptop I also have configured on the network doesn't do it. It's a right royal pain in the backside, especially as i've sat the computers side-by-side and the settings are identical.
Can anyone advise somethign for me to try (short of resetting and re-installing everything)?

Could you give me more details of your network setup, eg type or router, network connection type between computers and router etc. I know someone who is using Optus cable with a Motorolla modem and wireless + netgear pcmwireless card having similar problems. Eventually found was a faulty wireless card.
Also check for any interference, sometime something as simple as your neighbour having a same SSID as you to a microwave.
Good luck

I had the same problems, it was generally something like a microwave. I've just upgraded to a Netgear Wireless-N router and all the problems have disappeared. The microwave can now happily work away whilst I surf/download etc.
Maybe it's time for you to go the upgrade route as well?

| I have had the same issue. D-Link modem. I thought maybe the signal was low but mostly indicated good or better but every now and again dropped to Low then disconnected. I found on the internet that there are ways to increase the signal one can put a cd over the arial. Believe me it works. My signal strength has increased to excellent and have had no more drop offs.
