Hi,
A lot of times when I watch racing on TV, the drivers flip some switches and then hold down a button to start their cars. I'm wondering why this is used?
Also, I would like to have this in my car just for a show effect and to make it like a real race car, is this possible?

| When building/wiring a race vehicle from scratch it is simply much easier to use a button as the vehicle is usually kept securely when away from the circuit and no allowance is required for theft.

Hi, if you REALLY want to put this in your car, it is a simple modification that any good auto electrician can help you with.
All that is required is to mount the start switch and link it in to the start wiring of your original keyed ignition switch.
If done correctly you will still be unable to start the car without first inserting the key and switching it to the on position, as it will only control the starter motor circuit, thereby keeping the anti theft value of a keyed ignition system.
I have helped in fitting a couple of these systems and they work well.
