I'm brand new to the online Trading Post website. Just trying to list an item and get this error message when trying to save the description:-

"Full description must not contain over 50000 characters."

The message is clear but it would be helpful to know how many characters I am over the limit so I can edit accordingly.

Hi echy20007, thanks for the suggestion - a HTML character counter is a great idea. We’re always reviewing our sites features and we like hearing from our members. So stay tuned for more updates to the site.

In the meantime, I suggest using a free online html character counter. These are easily available on the web. Copy and paste your code into one of these and they'll give you an estimate of the number characters in your ad so can figure out how much to reduce it by.

Remember, if you are using HTML, avoid excessive formatting (it may be irritating to read and slow to download) and use bold and colour to highlight keywords, rather than slabs of text.

Thx Lisa
